Len's birthday weekend

This past weekend was a blast! We went to Tampa, FL for Len's birthday to see the Yankees play. We arrived in Tampa on Friday and stayed at Bryan Ley's house.

That night we all met up with Joanna and Kristin and a Mexican restaurant, Vallartas.

Me, Jo, and Kristin drank a little too mucho margaritas! Afterwards, we went to The Green Iguana, which is like a dance club...it reminds me of Bamboo Willies in P-cola...there was a live cover band, and I remember them being pretty good, because I danced a lot and even got on stage and started singing w/ the band! lol! Saturday we went to eat at a barbeque restaurant, they had the best nachos! yum! Then we just hung out at Bryan's and the guys watched some football. Me, Jessica, and Bryan's cousin, Gwen all watched a movie in bed (we don't care for fuseball too much). That night we went to go see the yankees play the devil rays and Sean Lewis, Lance, and Richards all met us at Bryan's before the game.

The game was a lot of fun. One Coke costed $5 and one beer was $6.25! We lost the game unfortunately :( The best part of the whole day was when we pulled up next to Derek Jeter in his Ferrari and he looked at us!! woohoo! That was awesome! On sunday, we hung out w/ everyone and all the guys watched football...Freakin A! They are crazy about that football man! Me and Jessica went to go get some junk food and pizzas, yummy! I kind of felt sorry that this was how Jessica spent every single sunday...with all those guys and football on TV the whole day! That night me and Len arrived at the airport and wouldn't you know our flight was cancelled, so we were delayed like an hour in tampa airport, and then another hour once we got to atlanta...so we didn't get home until 1:30am and Len had to work today, so he was really tired when he woke up this morning...poor baby! All in all, it was a blast! It was so great to see everyone again!

Just an ordinary day

Well, this weekend was nothing extraordinary…just your “run of the mill,” same old, same old. This past Saturday was like any other, I sat on the porch and watched Len working in the yard (which is like his pride and joy), and then I got to thinking, as I always do, about life. Funny, isn’t it? I never would have thought that I would ever be this domesticated, or that something as simple as sitting on the porch would bring me so much enjoyment. I guess some people would say that my life is boring. But, I find that I am completely content with just doing nothing for now. I’m happy just reading a book or magazine, even doing the laundry and cleaning the house. I’m sure that one day I will have children and my life will be hectic, and I will look back upon these precious moments of peace and quiet in remembrance of something great, so I guess this is why I am cherishing these moments now. I love these precious moments of having no agenda, no responsibility; I can just sit around with Len and enjoy each other’s company.

We take walks at night with the dog. We talk about the future…things such as who we want to be, where do we want to go, etc. I love the fact that life can lead us anywhere, I mean, who knows where we will be in 10 years, it could be anywhere, and I love that we have choices that could lead us anywhere! The randomness of life is exhilarating! Well, I just realized that I this is getting sappy. So I will end with this: “The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance - and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning.” Oprah Winfrey.

Tracy's visit

This is me and Tracy on Labor Day weekend. She came up to visit me and we went to the aquarium, we saw the chattanooga choo choo station, and went biking in the mountains along the Ocoee river. While we went biking, we also went hiking along one of the trails along the way and I was terrified of bears, since we recently had an incident in Chattanooga where a family was attacked in these mountains! All in all it was a blast, I would love to go biking again, or maybe whitewater rafting next time!

Getting started

Well, I am brand new to the blog world, but I am excited to join in on the fun! I guess I'll start my first entry with an update. I recently purchased my first house with my boyfriend, Len Martini, in Chattanooga, TN. Almost everyday I get the question, "Are you engaged?" The answer thus far is "not yet." However, when that day does come, everyone WILL know, I promise you!!! My poor boyfriend gets put one the spot all the time. For now, I have a promise ring, which really is beautiful. In case if you were wondering what a promise ring is, it is basically in a nut shell a "that'll shut her up" ring...haha! Anyway, life in the 'nooga is good. We basically work, and hang out at the house...it is really gorgeous here, the weather, scenery, etc. I work in a Cardiac ICU at a local hospital, which is a large teaching hospital...we have a lot of interns there, it's kinda like what you see on Grey's Anaomty, only I don't know if it is quite as juicy as that! I will be applying to the nurse anesthesia program May 2007 and if I am accepted then I won't start until May 2008...so I am a little bit away from what I really want to be doing, but hanging in there for now. My boyfriend, Len, just recently got promoted to a broker position at Scottrade, and has started studying for his Series 7 exam, God help me! He is already stressed, but I just keep praying for patience and understanding! Anyway...to all of my friends on here, do not be shy to come and visit me..I love you all!!!
